It's only getting worse

I've been saddened by gas prices since Trudeau's carbon tax on April 1st. However, it's not over yet, as a second carbon tax introduced into fuel regulations on July 1 will require producers to reduce their carbon content or buy credits. This will ultimately cost you at the pump. That rule would be about 17 cents per liter by 2030. It is completely irresponsible what the Trudeau government is doing to Canadian families who are financially disadvantaged by ever-increasing prices on tax land.

(If we can afford another tax, the liberals will take it.)

Double standards

It took me two years to call the city to cut down a couple of elms that were ruining my roof. They were citing provincial regulations regarding cutting dates, but they said the iconic elm could be cut and then cut outside of the time frame set by the province. I don't think the rules apply to the government.

(The loss of elm trees in the Stampede will be felt over the years, especially in the heat during the Stampede.)

The Union missed the mark

Due to the increase in violence and disrespect in schools, the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA) has now told the government to stop it, even before the arrival of COVID-19. Instead of being a good union man and swindling the government at every opportunity, he and the other ATA union bosses should have asked the government how they could work together to effectively deal with this issue. But that's not the union way, is it?

(Schools need better support from our government in many ways, the union is not to blame for consistent underfunding.)

Trudeau never admits guilt

Re: LILLEY: What did Trudeau know about foreign interference and when did he …

The Prime Minister wipes his hands of the three innocent monkeys who have seen nothing, heard nothing and said nothing at this foreign intervention commission. In fact, Justin might even be nominated for an Oscar at the 2025 Hollywood Awards. After all, before entering federal politics in 2008, the Prime Minister was a drama teacher in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Donald K. Munro

(Trudeau relishes the opportunity to be heard, and maybe this time he'll slip up and tell the truth.)
