The showroom's role as a “living laboratory” provides valuable real-world testing for SARIT vehicles on its 192-acre site.

SARIT vehicles are used by facilities and operations teams to navigate indoor and outdoor spaces during daily operations.

“Exhibition Place is pleased to support this groundbreaking work,” Exhibition Place CEO Don Boyle said in a statement. “By providing a proving ground for these innovative vehicles, we are supporting the development of this new technology and reaffirming the Showground's long-term commitment to building a sustainable future.”

The SARIT project will also be a flagship initiative with York University's Lassonde School of Engineering to explore pioneering solutions for vehicle testing and improvement, ridesharing and accessibility.

“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Professor Andrew Maxwell of York University's Lassonde School of Engineering.

“The Showground's reputation as a sustainability-focused site and its extensive year-round series of events make it the perfect environment to test and develop SARIT vehicles and raise public awareness of this important Canadian innovation.”
