Quebec police say a baby was injured in a truck crash in the Eastern Townships

A toddler has died from her injuries after being hit by a truck in the Eastern Townships on Wednesday afternoon, Quebec provincial police said.

The Sûreté du Quebec (SQ) was called to a collision on Jacques Road in Roxton Pond at 4:15 p.m.

According to the first information collected by the police, the truck hit the boy who was driving at low speed on a private road.

Provincial police are describing the collision as accidental.

The young boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The SQ confirmed his death on Thursday morning.

A reconstructionist and SQ investigator were dispatched to analyze the scene.

A forensic examination was also appointed in the case.
