Toronto restaurant workers receive a $500 tip from food critic Keith Lee

The American food critic, who has more than 16.1 million followers on TikTok, was recently in Toronto, where he sampled products at four restaurants in and around the city.

He left a $3,000 tip at Afro Pizza and received an additional $1,000 in pizzas to hand out free slices for the rest of the night.

Lee said in the video that he chose the restaurant after owner Kay contacted him on TikTok and offered to visit.

“If that's not a testimony, I don't know what is,” Lee said in his video.

You can taste the roasted horse as his eyes roll back in delight, describing it as “refined” and scoring a 9.6 out of 10.

Their Banana Pancakes with Guava Butter and Steamed Pork with Beans and Rice are also worth mentioning, but she wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese.

Lee also said the lines for the restaurant should be “out the door” and that Old Nassau has “the best food” he's tried since coming to town.

He then surprised Kay by entering the facility to express his gratitude and handing out $500 to each employee who worked that day.

“The food was great,” he said, adding that the restaurant's business “can be a little crazy.”

Owner Kay admits the wait is sometimes “anxious” because they make everything fresh and from scratch, but he's gotten more customers.

“We're ready,” he said.
