Winnipeg police are looking for suspects in the shooting of a man trying to sell a gun

Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect who was shot by a man trying to sell a firearm.

According to the Major Crimes Unit, the victim and the suspects agreed to meet Monday evening at an address in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue to finalize the gun purchase.

A pre-arranged meeting through a confidential firearms brokerage website goes horribly wrong when the victim becomes suspicious of the suspects' behavior.

According to the Department of Combating Major Crimes, one of the suspects pulled out a gun while driving and shot the victim's car several times. The 20-year-old victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was later located by police in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street. He was taken to the hospital in an unstable condition, and later his condition is stable.

The suspects fled before police arrived, and police are still searching for them.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing black clothing and carrying a long gun.
