Countdown to Stampede 2024: Canvas Auction

Often considered a wake-up call for Alberta's oil and gas industry and the general business community, the canvas auction for the 2024 Calgary Stampede takes place Thursday evening.

The annual event kicks off the countdown to the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” and dozens of companies and groups are vying for the chance to advertise on the chuckwagon canvas at this year's event.

Last year, bidders raised $2.75 million, which supports the drivers and their teams at the Cowboys Rangeland Derby and throughout the year.
