Downtown Montreal stabbing sends man to hospital – Montreal

A drug deal gone bad may have been the cause of an early-morning fight that sent one person to the hospital Thursday, according to Montreal police.

A 41-year-old man is expected to recover after suffering stab wounds to his lower body following a fight in downtown Montreal.

The victim was found by police at the corner of Ste-Catherine and St-Marc streets at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

A 32-year-old man was apprehended nearby and arrested shortly after the stabbing, police said. He remained in custody.

Police said the men knew each other and were highly intoxicated at the time of the altercation.

Both men have criminal records and will answer to the investigators.
