Calgary Stampede Canvas Auction Continues – HighRiverOnline.com

The Calgary Stampede's annual Canvas Auction takes place Thursday evening.

Some big names are expected to pull top dollar for their chuckwagons.

Last year's top bids of $170,000 went to Chris Molle and Kurt Bensmiller.

This is the 44th year for the auction, as last year's payout was their 10th highest on record.

Local Jason Glass brought in $110,000 last year as Jordy Feek bid $100,000. Mark Sutherland retired last year.

Thirteen drivers topped $100,000 last season.

For the third year in a row, this is a ticketed event through Ticketmaster, but you'll get extra cash with Foxx Worthee's performance.

It's again at the Big Four Roadhouse, doors open at 5pm, the auction runs from 7pm to 8.30pm and Foxx Worthee takes the stage at 9.

The Calgary Stampede runs from July 5-14 this year.
