Zack Eddy John R. Won the Wooden Award

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Purdue's Zach Eadie was named the nation's top men's college basketball player on Wednesday by the John R. He became the second two-time winner of the Wooden Award.

The 7-foot-4 center joins Virginia's Ralph Sampson in winning in 1982 and '83.

Edey led the nation in scoring and set school records for career points and rebounds. The Canadians led the Boilermakers to the national championship game, where they lost to UConn.

Caitlin Clark of Iowa won the women's woodwork on Tuesday.

Edey and Clark will be presented with their trophies on Friday at the Los Angeles Athletic Club along with Coaching Legends Award winner John Calipari.

Voting was conducted March 18-25 by a national panel of voters, including sports and past winners.
