Toronto police are looking for two suspects who impersonated police officers and conned an elderly couple out of $13,000.

In a police press release, the elderly couple received a phone call from someone claiming to be a police officer in January. The piece claims the victims were fraudulently using their credit cards and told the couple to hand over the cards to them.

The victims were told the courier would pick up their credit cards, police said, and the victims were advised to hand over the cards' PINs.

According to police, the suspects went to the victims' home near Wellesley Street East and Sumach Street and took the cards. Later, the suspects used the cards and extorted 13 thousand dollars from them.

The first suspect is described as a man with a heavy build, a dark beard and flowing hair. He was wearing a black Toronto Raptors t-shirt, a black and gray Nike sweater, gray track pants, a brown coat and gray cushion-style slippers with white socks.

The second suspect is a thin woman with long black hair. He is seen wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants.

Police are alerting the public as they may be victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
