Ontario man arrested in Toronto trying to kill father: police

Police wanted the young man in connection with Hamilton, Ont. Toronto Murder Caught.

Investigators say a man accused of an incident at a Stoney Creek residence Saturday night was arrested in the area of ​​Dufferin Street and West Eglington Avenue just before 3 p.m.

He was still driving the dark blue Ford Edge SUV that witnesses said he left after the incident at Trafalgar and Mud Street on Saturday.

Sukhraj Cheema-Singh is charged with first-degree murder after authorities found his father with serious injuries, police said.

Hamilton police said they found 56-year-old Kuldeep Singh in critical condition at his Upper Stoney Creek home around 7:30 p.m.

He later died after being taken to the hospital by paramedics.

Detectives said witnesses reported an altercation and Singh fled the scene.

He is expected to face a Hamilton judge on Wednesday.
