Canadian airline WestJet is expanding its network with new routes, including a seasonal nonstop flight between Calgary and Fredericton.

On April 9, WestJet unveiled a new twice-weekly direct flight that will operate from June 20 to October 28.

“The addition of service between Fredericton and Calgary is a testament to our ongoing commitment to deliver on our promise to expand our service in Atlantic Canada with a critical east-west connection, which has received strong community support,” said Andrew Gibbons. , WestJet's vice president of external affairs.

The Fredericton to Calgary service is in addition to WestJet's previously announced summer 2024 schedule for Atlantic Canada, with more than 25 nonstop routes connecting six Atlantic markets in Canada and beyond.

The news comes a day after the airline announced new routes to Winnipeg: new year-round daily service to Montreal and increased daily year-round service to Ottawa starting June 3.

WestJet also announced that it will be the only airline to offer direct service between Winnipeg and Nashville this fall, thanks to its long-awaited new seasonal service between Manitoba's capital and Tennessee's music city, which begins on September 16 and ends on November 15.

“Strong air connectivity opens up a world of opportunities for everyone who lives and works in Manitoba, allowing them to grow roots at home and travel boldly,” said Nick Hayes, president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports. “We are extremely grateful for WestJet's unwavering commitment to our community.”
