A motorcyclist died in a car accident in Longueuil

A 20-year-old man has died after being involved in a car crash in Longueuil, on Montreal's south shore, on Tuesday evening.

According to Longueuil Police (SPAL), a man was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car at the intersection of boulevards Roland-Therrien and Desormeaux at 6:30 p.m.

He was thrown from his bicycle in a road accident.

“After the impact, unfortunately the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead,” said Ghislaine Valliere, Longueuil police spokesman.

The driver, a 50-year-old man, was not injured.

“The investigation will determine the presence of criminal elements, negligence or premeditated motives in this death,” Valliere said.

Investigators are still on the scene to determine the circumstances of the collision.
