21-year-old woman arrested after setting apartment building on fire: Montreal police

Montreal police said Monday they have opened an arson investigation and arrested a 21-year-old woman after a fire broke out at an apartment building in The Village.

Around 1:15 p.m., the fire started in a residence on St. Andre Street near Ontario Street.

Montreal spokeswoman Véronique Dubc said the building was a “total loss.” No one was injured in the two-alarm fire, and it was finally extinguished.

The female suspect was located near the scene of the fire and is being questioned by investigators.
