Charlie Sharp signed an agreement with “Toronto” football club

TORONTO, Ontario – Western Michigan Football Alumni Charlie Sharp officially signed with Toronto FC. Toronto FC did not disclose the financial details of the contract.

In 2023, Sharp had 19 goals (seven game-winning goals), eight assists and 46 total points. All four categories set or tied career highs for Sharp in a single season. In addition, his 46 points and 19 goals led the NCAA in Division I men's soccer for 2023.

Sharpe won numerous awards this year and was the first finalist for the MAC German Trophy at Western Michigan. Leading the way in MAC Hermann scoring, Sharp has been on a great run over the last half of the 2023 campaign, as he has scored or assisted in nine of his last 10 games. Sharpe averaged 1.2 goals, 0.7 assists and 3.1 points per game in his 10 games. At the end of the 2023 season, the forward from Brighton, Michigan was tied for first in the NCAA with 0.95 goals per game, 2.30 points per game and tied for second with seven game-winning goals. The forward finished his WMU career with 42 goals, 22 assists and 106 points in 89 games.

Sharp leaves Western Michigan as one of the greatest to ever wear a Bronco uniform. He is tied for fourth in program history in career goals Dylan Singh has career assists and is tied with Singh for first in program history with 89 caps for the Brown and Gold.

Sharpe's signing with Toronto FC extends WMU's men's soccer record to the sixth pro signing in a single offseason.
