TTC routes will be affected by King Street construction

Construction on King Street West will affect a number of TTC routes downtown.

Starting February 18, the City of Toronto will begin replacing aging water mains and streetcar tracks on King Street between Shaw and Dufferin streets.

The work, which is expected to be completed in December, will affect routes 63 Ossington, 501A/501C Queen, 504/304 King and 508 Lake Shore.

The 63 Ossington route will be extended to replace the 504 King trams between Shaw Street and Roncesvalles Avenue. Buses run in both directions along Liberty, East Liberty and King Streets between Dufferin Street and Roncesvalles Avenue.

Trams on the 501A Queen route will run through Dufferin Street between McCall and Dufferin Gate until 10pm. After 10pm, 501C Queen trams operate between McCall and Long Branch loops on Queen Street.

During the works, the 504 Royal trams will be diverted to Queen Street between Roncesvalles Avenue and Shaw Street.

Trams on Route 404A will continue to operate between Dundas West Station and Distiller Loop, and Route 504B King will run between Humber Loop and Broadview Station until 10pm. After 10pm, 504B King trams run between Roncesvalles Avenue. Broadview Station.

The 304 King streetcar route between Roncesvalles Avenue and Shaw Street turns onto Queen Street between Dundas West Station and Broadview Station, and the 508 Lakeside turns onto Queen Street between Roncesvalles Avenue and Shaw Street.

The TTC said WheelTrans service will remain available in all areas where local traffic is permitted.
