Sinkhole closes Winnipeg street

Elmwood commuters may have to find a new route after a pothole opened up on a road in the area.

Winnipeg Police announced the cavernous sinkhole at Site X on Monday afternoon.

Union Avenue East is closed in both directions between Gray Street and Chalmers Avenue East “for the foreseeable future,” officials said.

People are asked to use alternative routes.
