Released for Brand Hotel and Condo project in Entertainment District

Freed Developments is branding the proposed hotel and condominium project at Adelaide and Duncan streets in Toronto's entertainment district as Freed Hotel & Residences. Located at 240 Adelaide Street West, the $800 million tower marks Freed Developments' first foray into Toronto's luxury hotel market, along with the introduction of Canada's first Katsuya restaurant.

The 63-story, 219m-tall project will feature 117 five-star luxury hotel rooms and 376 luxury condominiums with a Skybar/restaurant on the 63rd floor and an approximately 10,000 ft² Katsuya restaurant by Sam Nazarian's Disruptive Group. sbe, a leading hospitality company, is on the second floor. Peter Fried's vision for the project is to combine art, culture and elegance for hotel-style living. This vision was supported by the collaborative efforts of partners, including AS+GG Architecture and Toronto's own Design Agency responsible for interior design. The interior boasts both hotel and residential functions, including a top-floor Sky Lobby, a grand staircase leading to the 63rd-floor restaurant and bar, terraced outdoor garden areas and a boutique spa.

DesignAgency founding partner Anwar Mehayech praised the partners involved in the project. “By assembling a world-class creative team, Peter Fried has paved the way for innovation and imagination on a grand scale,” he said.

Freed Hotel and Residences is scheduled to launch in March 2024. A short walk to Osgoode or St Andrews stations on the University Line 1, the site is the former home of Crocodile Rock.
