The Blue Bombers have signed Canadian star RB Brady Oliveira to a two-year deal

Canadian shortstop Brady Oliveira has re-signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The 26-year-old thrived as the Blue Bombers' No. 1 receiver in his second full season, becoming only the second Canadian to surpass 1,500 yards in a season, joining John Cornish. He was named the league's Most Outstanding Canadian and was named Most Outstanding Player for his 2,014 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns.

Oliveira takes over the Blue Bombers after the departure of Winnipeg native Andrew Harris, who joined the Argonauts in 2022 after a illustrious career with the Bombers.

The University of North Dakota product rushed for 429 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his rookie campaign to help the Blue Bombers capture their 108th Gray Cup from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Oliveira surpassed his season stats a year later in 2022, catching 202 catches for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns.
