A Montreal teacher tried to make a quick buck by selling her students' artwork online – the school board says

A school board in Quebec has been caught after a high school teacher allegedly bribed a student online.

CTV News Montreal spoke with two angry parents who said their children's creative projects somehow ended up on social media platforms and in some cases sold for upwards of $150.

For example, one 12-year-old student at Westwood High School in St. Lazare says at least four of his artworks have been featured on various websites.

In fact, some of his images have been found on many things, including t-shirts, coffee mugs, and even iPhone cases.

This all came to light after another student Googled the teacher's name and came across an all-too-familiar art.

“I am so disgusted with this man. You know, it's really cool,” the girl's father, Michael Bennett, told the agency.

Now Toronto Lester B. Pearson contacted the school's board, which confirmed it had made allegations against one of its teachers.

“Lester W Pearson School Board is aware of the situation and takes these allegations very seriously. The investigation is ongoing, so the school board cannot comment further on the matter,” Director of Communications Darren Becker said in an emailed statement Monday.
