Winnipeg police will speak to the media Monday about the weekend's armed and barricaded incident.

Officers with the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an incident involving a woman being held against her will at an apartment building in the 200 block of College Avenue on Saturday. Officials said multiple occupants and a firearm were inside the apartment. The woman and several other passengers were ejected safely, but additional passengers were armed and refused to exit.

A confrontation ensued when the suspect in the suite pulled out a firearm and struck three officers, police said. Officials say the officers' injuries are not life-threatening.

Two men over 40 years of age were caught and arrested. An investigation is underway.
