The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed CFL All-Star RB Brady Oliveira

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed CFL standout Canadian Brady Oliveira, according to sources.

It's a two-year contract and he'll make $230,000 in 2024 and $240,000 in 2025, which would reset the national RB market. Oliveira earned about $120,000 in 2023 after reaching incentives for rushing yards, All-Star picks and awards.

The 26-year-old had one of the greatest seasons in CFL history last year, rushing 260 times for 1,534 yards, 5.9 per carry and nine touchdowns with 38 receptions for 482 yards and four touchdowns.

He was one of only two Canadian rushers in league history to reach 2,000 yards, earning Western Division Most Outstanding Player and league MOC honors.

After Andrew Harris left for the Toronto Argonauts in 2022, Oliveira took the No. 1 job and ran with it, carrying the football 202 times for 1,001 yards, 5.0 per carry, nine touchdowns, 23 catches for 252 yards and one major.

Oliveira played 13 games, starting six, for Winnipeg in the shortened 2021 regular season. He carried the football 94 times for 429 yards, 4.6 times per carry, and added nine catches for 74 yards with two touchdowns.

A product of Oak Park High School, Oliveira was a star at the University of North Dakota, rushing 500 times for 2,822 yards, 5.6 per carry and 22 touchdowns, while adding 25 catches for 241 yards in 42 games over his four seasons. Hawks. He earned All Big-Sky honors in 2016 and 2017.

The Winnipeg native was selected 14th overall by the Bombers in the second round during the 2019 CFL Draft. Oliveira had his rookie CFL season limited to two games after suffering a foot injury in the team's first home game.
