Two people are missing after a house fire in Bowman.

Quebec provincial police say two people are missing after a house fire in the western Quebec municipality of Bowman.

Police said the fire was reported at 8 a.m. on Sunday and three people escaped from the house.

Quebec Provincial Police Sgt. Camilla Savoie says the search is on to find out what happened to the two missing people.

Firefighters from several localities spent several hours trying to extinguish the flames.

Savoie said investigators and technicians are on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The community is located 55 kilometers north of Ottawa in the Outaouais region.
