Residents of Côte-des-Neiges hear gunshots overnight: Montreal police are investigating

The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) is once again investigating reports of gunshots heard by residents overnight, this time in the Côte-de-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grace (CDN-NDG) district.

Police received a 911 call around 2 a.m. Sunday to reports of multiple gunshots on Trans Island Avenue near Queen Mary Road.

Upon arrival, police found at least one shell casing on the ground.

An investigation is underway to locate any surveillance cameras that may provide additional information about this incident. So far no one has been injured and no arrests have been made,” said Constable Jeanne Drouin, spokeswoman for the SPVM.

The SPVM has established a security perimeter to secure the scene for the ongoing investigation.
