Seguin's 2 goals lead the Stars past the Canadiens

Slafkowski tied Montreal at 3-2 at 18:37 when he fired a shot over Ettinger's right shoulder from a tight angle before Suzuki fed him the puck behind the net.

“They're a good team, they know how to score,” Slafkowski said. “We had a lot of chances to come back, but we didn't.”

Slafkowski, the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NHL draft, scored his fourth goal in three games, including his first multi-goal game Thursday, to reach double figures in goals for the first time.

“He's getting better every game,” Suzuki said. “The experience he gets night in and night out against top lines and top pairings is something you don't really get. So he's made really good progress in the last couple of months and you want to see him step up.”
