Knife-wielding man confronts delivery driver inside restaurant: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say one man has been charged in connection with two robberies.

WPS says on February 4th around 3:45 p.m., officers were called to an attempted robbery of a delivery driver at a restaurant on Main Street.

The report said a man armed with a knife confronted the delivery person inside the store and demanded money.

The restaurant employees shouted for help and the suspect fled the scene, police said.

Around 6:30 p.m., police were called to an attempted carjacking outside the casino on McPhillips Street.

According to the report, a man in his 40s was sitting in his car when an unknown man opened his door and pointed a knife at him. The driver slammed the door and the suspect fled.

A short time later, police found the suspect on a bus outside the casino and arrested him.

Upon investigation, WPS determined he was the same suspect in both incidents.

A 28-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with two counts of robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.
