Winnipeg Police are at the scene on College Avenue

Winnipeg Police are on the scene of an incident in the city's north end Saturday morning.

Police posted on social media that there was a “steady police presence” in the 200 block of College Avenue.

Pictures from the scene show around a dozen police vehicles, including a tactical unit, at the scene. There is also a WPS mobile operations unit, a Winnipeg Transit bus with an “evacuation shelter” sign and two ambulances stationed in the area.

Onlookers said the incident started on Saturday morning.

One person was taken to an ambulance.

Residents are advised not to leave the territory.

Police remained at the scene in the morning.
