Two men have been charged in connection with an attempted carjacking in Calgary

Two men are facing multiple charges after an attempted carjacking in northeast Calgary over the weekend.

Police said there were three incidents early Sunday morning.

Around 4:15 a.m., a man was trying to pull out of the parking lot of a store at 5260 Falsbridge Gate NE when a black Ford F-150 blocked his path.

According to police, the truck driver approached the victim's vehicle with a shotgun and took control of the vehicle.

The victim fled to the store, but the suspect did not know how to drive a standard vehicle and was unable to start the vehicle. The suspect then left the area in their truck.

Then, about 30 minutes later, an F-150 approached a woman clearing snow from her car in the 0 to 100 block of Rundleson Way NE, police said.

The driver approached him at gunpoint, and he quickly locked himself in his car and drove off.

Around 5:10 a.m., two men approached a man sitting in his car in the 6000 block of Pinepoint Drive NE. The man with the gun demanded that the vehicle be abandoned, and the victim fled on foot.

The suspects were unable to restart the vehicle and fled the scene in an F-150, police said.

Police found the truck abandoned at the intersection of NE 26th Avenue and NE 56th Street.

Two suspects were identified with the help of the canine unit around six o'clock in the morning.

Levi Barrett, 21, and Emma Jessup, 21, of Calgary each face multiple charges related to robbery with a firearm and carjacking.

Both will appear in court on February 9.
