RCMP are investigating an attack at an arena in Portage la Prairie, Man. – Winnipeg

An investigation into the assault of Portage la Prairie RCMP officers in a Manitoba community is ongoing.

Police said they responded to the incident at Stride Place Arena on February 3rd at approximately 8:20 a.m. They said they received reports of an altercation between several youths involving the use of bear spray.

No injuries were reported.

Two people were arrested and later released without charge. Additional investigations led officers to identify the suspect who was arrested on Monday.

The 14-year-old is facing multiple charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released with a future court date.
