Starbucks is taking the cake after reporting a pill inside a Canadian treatment

Starbucks Canada says it has voluntarily stopped selling a certain portion of its birthday cake after a woman found a pill inside the treat.

Starbucks tells the Daily Hive that it is in contact with the BC woman and is investigating what happened to her supplier.

“Providing our customers with a safe and quality experience is our top priority, and we act quickly when potential concerns arise,” Starbucks Canada said.

BC RCMP say the Comox Valley detachment on Vancouver Island received a complaint about a pill found inside a cake pop and the pill has been sent for analysis to determine its contents.

The Daily Hive reached out to the customer for an interview, but did not hear back.

Other flavors of cake pops and flavors from different parties than those affected are still being sold at Canadian Starbucks locations.
