Toronto police reported several dog attacks, and a woman was hospitalized

Toronto police say a woman was hospitalized after being attacked by two dogs in Rexdale this week, and investigators are searching for the dogs as well as their owner.

In a news release Friday, police said they were first called to the dog attack in the area of ​​Martin Grove Road and John Garland Boulevard at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the investigators, the woman was waiting for a bus at the bus stop when two off-leash dogs approached her and attacked her.

According to the report, the woman tried to defend herself with her shopping cart, but the dogs dragged her to the ground and continued to attack her.

The woman was able to find safety in a passerby's car while someone else followed the dogs. Police said a second person saw the dogs attack the bicyclist, try to attack a resident in his yard, and finally attack a TTC Wheel-Trans operator who managed to close the vehicle's doors in time.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious, life-changing but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

“Due to public safety concerns, investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the dogs and their owners,” the statement said.

Both dogs are described as black and white with larger structures, “possibly pit bull terriers or a similar breed.”
