A Winnipeg woman has been charged in the death of a two-month-old baby

Winnipeg police have charged a woman in connection with the death of a two-month-old baby.

According to WPS, on Dec. 4, 2023, officers and paramedics responded to a home on Atlantic Avenue after receiving a report of an unresponsive infant.

At the scene of the incident, emergency personnel announced that the two-month-old child was dead.

The Winnipeg Police Service's Child Abuse Unit has taken over the death investigation.

After an autopsy, it was found that the baby died due to malnutrition.

On February 8, 27-year-old Alyssa Michelle Ross was arrested and charged with murder.
