The BC Lions have signed former Montreal Alouettes forward William Stanback

William Stanbeck goes to Vancouver.

According to TSN Football Insider Dave Naylor, the BC Lions agreed to a deal with the free agent released by the Montreal Alouettes in late January.

Stanback, 29, spent the last five seasons with the Als.

The Virginia Union product appeared in 14 games for the Gray Cup champions last season, rushing for 800 yards on 147 carries with two touchdowns. He also had 27 receptions for 241 yards and a TD carry.

A two-time CFL All-Star, Stanback is a candidate for East Division Most Outstanding Player in 2021, leading the CFL in rushing with 1,176.

The Hempstead, New York native spent time on NFL rosters with the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders, but never saw game action.
