Year of the Dragon is coming on Saturday! Celebrate the Lunar New Year in Chinatown, which includes the return of a weekend-long festival Asian night market. Sun Yat Sen Park will host a Lion Dance Show at noon on Saturday, followed by a variety of music and dance performances, as well as martial arts demonstrations. The full program on Facebook is here. Last weekend for Repentigny Feu et Glace Festival, family-friendly outdoors including a snow maze, tubing and climbing wall paired with live music, fitness classes, lighted drumming and fireworks! Parc de l'Île-Lebel on Saturdays and Sundays in Repentigny.

This is the fourth and final weekend Igloofest, Old Port's winter dance music extravaganza. The temperature is even hotter this weekend! Kaskade and Nana Zen headline on Friday, while Miss Monique, Mootanda and BenxOli headline on Saturday, kicking off and ending the night on the Videotron Stage.

Dawson College's The Dome is honored to present the Canadian premiere of Tom Stoppard's Tony-winning play. Leopoldstadt. Graduate students perform this family saga, set in the titular Jewish quarter of Vienna from the late 19th century to the post-Holocaust era. Until February 17.

40 years of teaching and performance of the second largest ballet in the city! Montreal Ballet A new triptych of choreographies celebrates the 40th, including the riff on Swan Lake, conceived by artistic director Claude Caron. The company performs the show on Sundays at 7pm at the Salle Pierre-Mercure before an off-island tour later this month.

Black History Month ONGOING: The West Island Black Community is celebrating Black Women with Herstory, an event moderated by Vanessa Manrup at the Gerry Robertson Community Center in Pierrefonds on Saturday at 6 p.m. Michelle Sweeney hosts Motown and Disco Inferno at Le Balcon on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. Check out the new play by playwright Donna-Michel St. Bernard, Diggers. This play by Black Theater Workshop, at the Segal Center Studios through February 17, tells the story of three grave diggers and the community they serve.

Wrestling clothes Combat warfare It's a Sunday night date at Fufs, but they rarely do a Friday show! On the card: “Mononk” St-Jacques, Fred La Merway, Matt Falco, Michelle Plante, Travis Toxic and champion Benjamin Tull in various matches. Friday at 9pm at Foufounes Electriques.

The great lady of Canadian dance Margie Gillis performs Body Literature. The choreographer and dancer is celebrating 50 years in the business, with a double bill of back and forth. His previous work Bloom is a vision of James Joyce and Ulysses, updated from a solo piece to a 16-person show. This will be followed by a new piece exploring climate change, The Maisonneuve, Friday and Saturday at 8pm.

Friday's featured music: Polish death metal band Vader Le Studio TD, 7 p.m. Dutch DJ Mau P At New City Gas, 10.00 am. Actor-singer Vladimir Korneev Edith Piaf pays tribute to her hits (La vie en rose) with new arrangements and deep passages, songs she never recorded. Korneev first performed the show in Berlin, but this will be his French-language debut. Friday, 19.00 in the Cinquième Salle, more shows on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Voice Canada finalist David Marino Musical director John Gilbert and a talented group of jazz musicians will show their way through love songs. Salle Claude-Levey, Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.

St. Andrew and St. Paul's Church is located A light in the darkness, an evening of music and fundraising for the Douglas Foundation for Mental Health Research and Care, featuring Marie-Claire Saindon, Benjamin Britten and new choral works. Friday, 7:30 p.m.

When it comes to legendary queens, Christina of Sweden is an all-time icon. He succeeded his father at a young age, ruled a war-torn country, rejected marriage proposals, converted to Catholicism, and dressed unconventionally. The Minerva of the North lived a life of its own, so artists like Michel Marc Bouchard never tire of it. The Quebec playwright adapted the play about Christine (or Christine) and her meeting with René Descartes into a libretto. La Rhine-Garcon. Paired with colleague and composer Julien Bilodeau, their new work will be performed by Opéra de Montréal at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier through Sunday. Musicologist Piano Nobile gives a free lecture one hour before each performance.

The McCord Stewart Museum is excellent and informative Today's Indigenous Voices: Education, Trauma, Resilience. The show introduces the 11 nations that live on the border of Quebec with their testimonies and carefully curated objects. Two of McCord's current shows are Becoming Montreal, about images of the city in the 1800s, and Wampum: Beads of Diplomacy, which showcases more than 40 wampum belts from various collections, emphasizing their symbolism and history.
