A 19-year-old man was found dead in the hallway of a downtown Winnipeg apartment building, police said.

A 19-year-old man was found dead in the hallway of a downtown Winnipeg apartment building, police said.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedics were first called to the building on Assiniboine Avenue between Carlton and Hargrave streets just after 6 a.m. Wednesday.

They found River Harper dead in the hall, police said.

Officers later ruled his death a homicide.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call the homicide unit at 204-986-6508 or leave a confidential tip with Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
