A man has been charged with defrauding the SickKids Foundation

An arrest has been made in connection with a person who impersonated an employee of the charity SickKids Foundation.

Toronto police say they have received several reports of a man asking for cash at apartment buildings in downtown Toronto since November.

The man was dressed in uniform and wearing a fake ID identifying himself as an employee of the SickKids Foundation.

Police say he became aggressive and physically threatened when confronted.

Investigators released photos of the suspect on February 3.

Kenneth Gobin, 37, of Vaughan was arrested Tuesday and charged with 13 counts, including three counts of attempted fraud and four counts of conspiracy to obtain privilege and probation violation.

Investigators believe there are multiple victims and are asking anyone with information to call police at 416-808-5100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
