The Winnipeg native returns home after attending the Grammy Awards

In mid-January, Winnipeg's Amanda Buchse fulfilled a lifelong dream by turning 75.th The Emmys came as a seat filler, but little did he know that he would be returning to Hollywood on short notice because his name was one of very few chosen to appear on music's biggest night of the year.

“I remember thinking that I will never forget that moment because it will never happen again,” he said

“This time, 30,000 people applied and they picked 350 people, so about 1 percent, and I was one of the 1 percent, which is just wild.”

When you reach 66th At the Grammy Awards edition, the Winnipeg entrepreneur sat front row ahead of music superstars Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish and was even televised during host Trevor Noah's opening monologue. It was certainly a hit with Buhse's family and friends watching from home.

“After the show, everyone reached out to me and sent me clips from their TVs at the time and winked at Taylor Swift sitting next to me.”

While attending countless memorable Emmys moments, if the Winnipeg native had to choose just one of two awards shows to attend, it would have to be the Grammys.

“Sitting here and listening to these incredible performances for hours on end, there's no other show that ends like this, it's just magical, it's so special, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity,” he said. Bush.

But of all the memorable performances, Buchse says seeing Canadian folk music legend Joni Mitchell take the stage 50 years after winning his first Grammy is one he'll never forget.

“There wasn't a dry eye in the house, he had the audience on his feet, and he was performing at the Grammys for the first time, so it was pretty cool.”

Buhse, who dreams of taking part in music's biggest night, hopes his streak continues.

“I would be honored to fill any vacancy, it was the greatest experience of my life and to be able to do it twice in a matter of weeks is even more amazing.”
