Toronto police have arrested a man accused of impersonating someone SickKids Foundation representative and demanded cash from residents.

Investigators said they began receiving reports in November from residents of downtown Toronto apartments “falsely posing as employees of the SickKids Foundation charity and soliciting donations on their behalf.”

He was accused of wearing clothing with the SickKids logo and presenting a false identification badge.

When residents confronted the man, police say he became aggressive and physically threatening.

Officers arrested Kenneth Gobin, 34, on Tuesday and charged him with 13 counts, including four counts of attempted fraud.
