71 prospects invited to the 2024 CFL Combine in Winnipeg

The Canadian Football League has released the initial list of 71 prospects invited to the 2024 CFL combine.

60 top Canadian players and 11 global prospects have accepted the invitation to be in Winnipeg from March 19-24. Bemidji State receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby will be the visitors' top-rated prospect after being ranked No. 13 in the CFL's winter scouting rankings. According to the bureau's list, 14 of the top 20 prospects will miss the event due to college pro opportunities or injury.

San Diego State defensive lineman Daniel Okpoko (No. 15), Washington State offensive lineman Christy Nkanu (No. 16), former Clemson wide receiver Aju Ajou (No. 17), Laval offensive lineman Nathan Dumoulin-Duguay are expected to attend. (No. 18) and his counterpart, receiver Kevin Mittal (No. 20).

This year's events will be held in Edmonton in a five-day format introduced in 2023. On the first day, the players will undergo medical testing and measurements, followed by the traditional testing activities on the second day. Days three through five will feature practice sessions that include individual drills and one-on-one drills with CFL coaches leading position groups.

The Toronto Argonauts' Dominique Picard will be the offensive coordinator, while Winnipeg's Marty Costello will handle the offensive linemen, Hamilton's Naaman Roosevelt will coach the receivers and Ottawa's Nathan Taylor will be in charge of the running backs. Corey Waldbauer of the University of Manitoba will coach the quarterbacks.

On the other side of the ball, Calgary Stampeders DB coach Dwayne Cameron serves as defensive coordinator. BC's Tanya Henderson will work the defensive line, Saskatchewan's JC Sherritt will handle the linebackers, Montreal's Noel Thorpe will coach the defensive backs and Edmonton's Mike Schaeper will handle special teams.

Unlike last year's event, the 2024 CFL Combine will be broadcast live CFL+.

Players who did not receive a direct invitation to the CFL Combine have the opportunity to be selected through the Invitational Combine on March 8 at Feridoon Hamdullapur Field House at the University of Waterloo. You can see the full version. here is the list of prospects invited to this event.

The 2024 CFL draft begins on Tuesday, April 30, with the global draft beginning at 11:00 a.m. EDT. The Canadian Main Event starts at 8:00 PM EDT and features 74 qualifiers over eight rounds. The Edmonton Elks currently hold the first overall selection, followed by the Ottawa Redblacks and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
