A heavy police presence in Cochrane, Alta., officials said

Cochrane RCMP are notifying the community Thursday that the increased police presence in the community does not pose a threat to public safety.

Officials said officers were in the area of ​​Heritage Boulevard and Heritage View for a “pre-planned police operation.”

“People are asked to avoid the area and not post police activities on social media, as this may pose a threat to police and public safety,” the RCMP said in a press release.

Police did not release any further details about the incident.
