Several days after several suspicious fire incidents in Montreal

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating three more suspicious fires two days after being called to four fires on the island.

The first happened at 1:30 a.m. Thursday on Blvd. Alexis Nihon in the St. Laurent neighborhood.

“When the fire department arrived on the scene, they found three cars on fire and a fourth car on fire, as well as part of a house,” explained Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.

Montreal firefighters extinguished the fire and limited the damage.

A little over an hour later, at 2:40 a.m., Montreal police received a 911 call about a fire on Hanover Road near Graham Boulevard in Mount Royal (TMR).

“When the police got to the scene, the fire department found a broken window,” Brabant said. “Inflammable material was found inside the house. There were people inside the house, but they were not injured.”

The house was slightly damaged.

Shortly after, at 3am, a third fire broke out after an incendiary device was thrown from the window of a reception room on rue Des Nations in the Saint-Laurent district.

The files were sent to the Montreal Police Fire Squad and no arrests have been made.
