Flames sign Martin Pospisil to 2-year extension

The Calgary Flames have extended the contract of forward Martin Pospisil for two years.

The Slovakian forward has four goals, seven assists, a +10 rating and 37 penalty minutes this season with the Flames.

The extension keeps Pospisil through the 2025-26 season at an average annual value (AAV) of $1 million.

He was drafted by the Flames in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft.

“We've seen tremendous growth and maturity in Martin's game since we drafted him in 2018,” Flames general manager Craig Conroy said in a press release.

“Martin has become a huge part of our team and we are delighted to have him signed for the next two years.”

The 24-year-old fouled out Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand in the Flames' 4-1 win on Tuesday night.
