Two suspects were charged with stealing an ATV from an Ajax GO station last fall after tips from the public.

Durham Regional Police said two men entered a “secure room” at the Go station located in the 100 block of Westney Street. S. – on October 8, 2023 at around 21.00.

The thieves stole many items, including a Polaris ATV.

On November 17, 2023, investigators posted security camera images of the two suspects on the Help to Solve Crime section of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) website.

One suspect was located and arrested on Jan. 14, and the second suspect was arrested on Monday, police said in a statement Wednesday.

“DRPS would like to sincerely thank everyone who assisted in locating these individuals,” police said.

Justin Larochelle, 35, of Whitby, was charged with theft and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

Darren Meaney, 44, of Whitby, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, trespassing and failure to comply with a probation order.

According to the police, both accused have been released from custody on bond.
