Toronto R&B singer Daniel Caesar and Ottawa-born Nicolas Durocher, aka Talk, each have five nominations.

Fresh off his performance at last weekend's NHL All-Star Game, Calgary pop singer Tate McRae is up for three awards, including artist of the year. Montreal-born folk singer-songwriter Allyson Russell, who won Sunday night's Grammys, is also up for three nominations, including female artist of the year.

Aisanabi, actor and rapper Connor Price, production duo DVBBS and Canadian power-pop singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith received three nominations.

Canada's biggest music night will host Nelly Furtado, The Beaches, Cardin, this year's Canadian Music Hall of Famer Maestro Fresh Wes, country star Josh Roche,

British Columbia-based Punjabi singer Karan Aujla and Talk. Tegan and Sarah also make a special appearance as they prepare to receive a humanitarian award from actor Elliot Page.

After hosting the Junos in 2007, Furtado promised a “tasteful” and “sexy” broadcast.

“I bring my A-game to the party, bringing fun, fashion and energy,” the I'm Like a Bird hitmaker told the Canadian Press.

The 53rd annual Juno Awards air March 24 from Halifax's Scotiabank Center live on CBC.
