Two people were sent to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a two-alarm fire in Scarborough

Two people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a residence in Scarborough on Wednesday.

Toronto Fire Services said crews responded to a two-alarm fire on the second floor of an apartment building on Karaob Court, located in the area of ​​Birchmount Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

They said two patients were taken to the hospital, including a 30-year-old woman with serious, life-threatening injuries and a man with minor injuries.

The fire has since been extinguished, but crews remain at the scene.
